Job Description
Project Overview:
Pathfinder International, together with Engender Health and other partners are working together to Scale up Family Planning in Tanzania (suggested regions for scale up Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Geita, Kagera, Lindi, Mara, Morogoro, Mtwara, Pwani, Shinyanga, Simiyu, Tanga and Zanzibar), The partners will use a targeted-systems approach to help Tanzania towards a more sustainable, inclusive FP and SRH programme that leaves no one behind. The targeted-systems approach includes interventions that strengthen priority health system components at the health facility, district, regional, and national levels. This approach ensures that quality services are delivered through public sector facilities and selected private sector facilities to increase options and enable choice where women and men can access services. Unlike some other private sector-focused programmes, this approach puts the Government of Tanzania in the driver’s seat for planning, coordination, oversight, and delivery of FP services. By cultivating ownership starting at the MOH and PORALG and flowing down through the RHMTs, CHMTs, and local health facilities, this approach offers a pathway for continuous, sustained quality SRH services for women, girls, and underserved populations, including people with disabilities.

Key Job Outcomes:
1. Strategic Plan and Budget Implementation. Works with others to implement the strategic approach of the program or project specific to SRHR services. Assists in the development of annual plans and budgets for the SRHR portfolio of the program or project.
2. Program Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation. Reviews quarterly and annual program or project progress and financial reports, and gives constructive feedback on the regional programs or projects and IPOs as applicable. Compiles quarterly and annual reports for MEL to report to the organization. Partners with MEL to help conduct research and data gathering on significant and new developments. Identifies best practices in activities. Recommends improvements for program or project performance and assists in sharing innovative methods with partners.
3. Technical Direction. Assists in the implementation of capacity building and development in the different regional locations.

4. Project and Management Reporting. Assists in the development and delivery of reports related to the program’s or project’s activities. Submits a completed consolidated report to MEL team on a timely basis.
5. Meeting and Forum Attendance. Attends relevant meetings as well as forums to foster and enhance collaboration. Identifies new and improved approaches, methods and ideas.
6. Training Design, Development and Delivery. Assists in standardizing SRHR training curriculum.
7. Publications: Assists with coordinating publication of research findings, technical reviews and the development of manuals and guidelines for project related activities.
8. Product Development. Develops collaborative linkages, and coordinates the publication of concept papers and proposals related to the SRHR program.
9. Project Management and Participation: Leads, manages or participates on cross-functional project teams.

The Finance officer intern is self-motivated individual whose objective is to assist the Project Finance and Admin Officer and the entire finance team on finance roles that pertains to the proper funds management for the TB Project. He/She will be responsible to report to the Finance and Administration Officer who will supervise him/her on daily work activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Record and posting of approved financial transactions into accounting system.
  • Maintaining banking records and filling them in an appropriate manner.
  • Executing activities payment via mobile money systems and capturing the records in the accounting
  • Processing duly approved disbursements of both cash and banking adherence to policy and procedures
  • Ensuring that all payment requisitions are complete with all necessary support documentation such as Pro forma invoices/bids, LPO, selection minutes, delivery notes, tax invoices etc, before making payments,
  • Also ensuring that all payments are properly coded and cancelled with PAID stamp.
  • Be part of report preparation for internal and external stakeholders use.

Position Summary:

Working under the direct supervision of the Water Mission – Tanzania Country Program Director, this position is responsible for applying sound project and program management techniques, engineering principles, and excellent written and verbal communication skills to manage a regional office in Tanzania. This position oversees large, solar powered water projects in multiple locations. The Regional Manager will manage scopes of work, schedules, budgets, water sources, treatment and storage installations, and access points for these large projects. This role will require establishing residence in Kasulu, Tanzania (in the Kigoma region) for a minimum of two years. Given the required location, travel to and from the applicant’s country/location of permanent residence will be provided once per year.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, donors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public
  • Study, embrace, advocate, and lead staff to understand and adhere to Water Mission vision, mission, standards, and values in all areas of office and project operations

Yapi Merkezi have fulfilled all the technical and financial requirements for designing and constructing the high-speed electric railway line in Tanzania. The project is Railway construction and the work locations will be Kilosa, Dodoma.

Responsibilities– Support the development of OHS policies and programs

  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
  • Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
  • Write and submit concrete and accurate reports on incidents
  • Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards
  • Requirements / Qualifications- Diploma / BSc / BA in safety management, engineering or relevant field is preferred

Possess safety certificate from OSHA

  • Proven two years of professional experience
  • In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
  • Outstanding organizational skills

The Kingdom of Belgium through Enabel and the Government of Tanzania through the Ministry of Water, are implementing a water and sanitation project in Kigoma region. This is a 5-year project which runs through June 2022 and aims to promote provision of sustainable water supply services in the region. This intervention has three key result areas namely: 1) sustainable water supply operations and maintenance, 2) water supply scheme rehabilitation and extension and 3) promotion of safe hygiene practices in domestic water management. Under the first result area, the Water and Sanitation Kigoma Region Project (WASKIRP) is now inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to provide professional support to the project in establishing and developing community-based water supply organizations (CBWSO), pursuant to the Water Supply and Sanitation Act (No. 5 of 2019).

Main objective of the assignment: Working with the Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), facilitate the establishment of 6 community-based water supply organizations and build the capacity of these to operate as professional entities in managing the operations of their respective water supply schemes.
Specific objectives: There are five specific objectives (each with a set of tasks to be accomplished) to this assignment as follows:
· Through a participatory process, establish and register CBWSOs, one in each of the 6 rural districts of Kigoma.
· Facilitate establishment of operational systems and develop the CBWSO members’ capacity to manage them.
· Working with RUWASA District Managers, analysis of financial requirements of schemes and support setting up of tariff guidelines and revenue collection system.
· Support RUWASA in developing a system for monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning for the CBWSOs.
Duration: The assignment is for 120 days spread across a one-year period beginning as soon as possible.
Location: The assignment will be carried out in Kigoma Region, and so the consultant, if not Kigoma-based, shall be prepared to travel back and forth from their base; travel arrangements shall be agreed upon.
Qualifications: The consultant shall have the following qualifications
· A graduate (Master degree level) in social and economic sciences, and/or equivalent
· A minimum of 10 years of practical experience in community work in social development projects including water, sanitation and hygiene projects
· At least 5 years working with community-based organizations and NGOs in areas of institutional strengthening and capacity building at local government level;
· Proven experience in facilitating training workshops, coaching and nurturing newly established partnerships
· The successful candidate will provide a traceable record of relevant experience in establishing community-based including cooperative societies, community-based organizations (CBOs), Water User Associations or Community water boards or local NGOs particularly those related to water supply/WASH, public health or small-scale business entities.
